After Midnight

So I received a comment on my writing blog from a person who wished to remain anonymous, basically saying "thank you so much, this helped me on my college assignment."

Needless to say, I am making my writing blog private.

I honestly don't know who reads and who doesn't, so if you would like an invitation to view my blog, please send me an email or comment on this post.  I'm happy to invite anyone, but I'm not about to let my ideas be used for something I don't give permission for, ESPECIALLY a college grade.

I do not blame you at all. That is HORRENDOUS and DESPICABLE that someone would plagarize your work like that. That makes ME livid and it is not even my writing!

I would love to be able to continue reading your writing blog- I think you are highly talented. I will send you an e-mail so you will have my address.

Thank you!

And, again, I am SO SORRY that someone is/has been doing this. You can always include your own copyright info on the things you do write, so if anyone steals it, you have some sort of recourse against it.

Happy night!

I'm a reader/lurker. I like your blog because you are a good writer and because your life is so different than mine-and that makes it interesting. I can understand that it would be weird an uncomfortable to have someone reading your blog and then taking that info into a college class, but I've taught classes on youth and sexuality-and I have to say that this blog would be an excellent teaching resource for students seeking to understand how people navigate issues of sexuality and culture. That is a complement to you, because there are a lot of blogs out there that are not very insightful.

On a personal note, if I can't keep following this blog, I admire your strength and hope you will keep pushing to lead a life of joy. I'm a lesbian. I married my partner in DC right after marriage became legal and we are expecting our first child. Part of me wants to tell you to run away to New York or SF or Northhampton MA (at least for a few years and experience a community where being gay is not a big deal, but the other part of me really admires you for fighting the good fight where you are.

I know we've never met outside of blogland, but I'd like to continue reading.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. You're all very thoughtful and I appreciate your kind words.

To clarify, this blog (My Life of Footprints) will continue to be open for all. I could never make it private. I know that there are so many people out there who are searching for some reassurance that they are not the only one. I know that there are people who are searching for hope. I don't know who reads my blog and who stumbles upon it and I don't know if it's helpful at all, but because there is the possibility that it could be, I'm good with anyone and everyone reading what is posted here.

However, I have a total of three blogs. This is only one. One of those three is a blog where I post personal writing creations. I post poetry and some fiction, mostly just creative ideas that I have. That is the blog I have made by invitation only.

Shoot me an email at drakames@yahoo.com or leave your email on the comment page if you'd like an invite!

I hope that all of you will continue to read, and thanks for your support!
